Fenway

An area that has a lot going on, from art openings to baseball games.

Welcome to Fenway

Fenway -Kenmore is a Boston neighborhood that is synonymous with the Boston Red Sox and their famous ballpark. But did you know that Fenway was named for the main thoroughfare through the area that Frederick Law Ulmsted designed – and not Fenway Park?

Fenway, or The Fenway, is also home to several educational institutions (Northeastern University and portions of Boston University, to name a few), some of the nation’s top hospitals (Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Boston Children’s Hospital, etc.), several of the city’s most prominent museums (the MFA and the Isabella Gardner), green space (the Fens - acres of formal and community gardens, sports fields, and walking paths) and yes, the famous Boston landmark, the Citgo sign. This is an area that has a lot going on - from art openings to baseball games – and to go with that, a very heterogeneous population.

Residential options abound in Fenway- Kenmore. Winding along the Fens are lovely brick and brownstone rowhouses, making this area feel like Back Bay. Audobon Circle has more recently constructed condominium buildings which draw a mix of students and young urban professionals as well as families. Fenway – Kenmore is well served by many restaurants and chain stores.
