Bay Village

A tucked away little neighborhood with tremendous appeal.

Welcome to Bay Village

Bay Village is a tucked away little neighborhood with tremendous appeal. One of the smallest in Boston, it is ideally located close to Back Bay, Downtown Crossing, and the South End. Residents of Bay Village enjoy the quiet narrow, gas lantern lit streets lined with Federal-style brick rowhouses, as well as the close proximity of a plethora of restaurants, shops, services, fitness centers and entertainment venues.

Bay Village was built on infilled marshland, like so many other areas in Boston.

Fun fact about Bay Village: Edgar Allen Poe was born at 62 Carver Street in 1809. While the home of his birth no longer exists, he is surely one the area’s most well-known former residents! A statue of the author - complete a raven and tell-tale heart - can be found in Poe Square.
